Fun with Jim West Plants
Here’s the result of some Jim West plants and a whole lot of sweat. This weekend, in an effort to reduce the size of my lawn, I expanded my front bed by about 50 square feet. This was the perfect time of year to remove the sod. Since it was still dead, it was like taking icing off a cake. Digging the holes, however, was another story. Our neighborhood is newly built and only has about 2″ of topsoil above clay that is as solid as a rock. Phew!

I’m hoping that this will be a lot more eco-friendly once it’s established. I’m also going to install a drip irrigation system so I can water as little as possible.
My neighbors just got served!
