Mr. Robert Bowden, Director of Leu Gardens in Orlando, FL will be the featured speaker. Robert Bowden has been the Director of the City of Orlando’s beautiful Harry P. Leu Botanical Gardens for fifteen years and earlier served as the Director of the Atlanta Botanical Garden, and the Director of Horticulture of the Missouri Botanical Garden in St Louis, Missouri. During the 1970’s, he was Garden Manager at Maclay Gardens in Tallahassee. He graduated from Florida A&M University with a degree in horticulture and earned a MBA from the University of Michigan.

Throughout the U.S., Robert’s delightful photographs and enjoyable essays can be seen in a wide variety of gardening magazines and professional journals. He appears often on several nationally syndicated television programs and his new book, Florida’s Top Ten Garden Guide, published by Time Warner/Sunset Books, was released in early 2007. He has also spoken at Walt Disney World’s Epcot Flower Show where he spoke as one of Disney’s six “Great American Gardeners.” Additionally, he has delighted audiences of Florida Master Gardeners and attendees of Floriculture Field Day.

A delicious dinner will be served with a cash bar and there will be a silent auction. Reservations are required. Please mail your check for $25.00 per person, made out to GFBB, to NFREC, 155 Research Road, Quincy, FL 32351, Attention: GFBB Speaker Dinner.
